Diving
is personal. It is a personal experience that changes lives. You will not be the
same person after learning to
dive as you were before. Sharing the experience of diving
with others can make friends for life.
Specialty Training offers divers the opportunity to learn more about specific type of diving they choose based on their interest.
The following list is a summary of the specialties we offer at Aqua Adventures. We offer most specialties monthly. Please call for details and for dates!

Deep Diving
It is a rare diver who hasn’t felt the
urge to dive deep. As a general rule, divers are adventures people, and deep
diving is definitely a cool adventure. During this training you will learn
what special equipment and consideration must be taken to stay within safe
recreational limits, but go DEEP. After completing your training, you will
be qualified to dive
to depths as deep as 130 feet.
can quickly and easily capture the underwater world with your camera and on your
computer. You don't have to wait until you return from a dive vacation to
develop your images anymore. You can see what you captured underwater right
after you shot it, and if needed delete it and re-shoot. You not only learn how
to take good photos, but how to share them with your friends via email or
printing.
Wreck Diving
You drift down and pass
through a window into the past. As you near the bottom, a
recognizable shape begins to form. First, you see a straight line, then a round
window. Next, a ship materializes in front of you. As you look at the wreck,
past and the present meet. Whether sunk intentionally or tragically, whether a
sunken ship, a plane or an automobile, the call of wrecks is nearly irresistible
to divers. Whether your first or your hundredth dive on a wreck, you will sense the
mystery and exhilaration of discovery. In some cases you see changes from one
dive to the next as the wreck gradually evolves from a work of humanity to part
of the underwater world, while in others a wreck seems timeless –you age and
change over the years, but it doesn’t. Through
this course, you get the skills, knowledge and procedures you need to answer the
call of wreck diving.
Dry Suit Diver
Specialty
Getting cold while diving does not
have to be a necessary part of your
adventures! Just replace your wetsuit with a dry suit! It is the ultimate way of
diving, especially during those chilly winter months. A dry suit keeps you warm
by trapping air between your body and the suit. The warmth further increased by
a layer of undergarment that is similar to ski undergarments. During this class
you will learn the proper care and use of a dry suit first in our pool, than in
the ocean.

this makes it ironic that underwater, we are
constrained by what physicists call the fourth dimension: time
-the no decompression limits. Enriched Air Nitrox is recreational
diving’s latest tool in the struggle to safely extend our maximum allowable
bottom time.

Underwater
Videography
Do you want to share the thrill of diving with your friends and family?
Other
than taking someone diving, there’s only one way to show someone the sounds,
motion and dynamics of the underwater world. Underwater videography allows you
to share and document your underwater adventures.
The PADI Underwater Videographer
Specialty course shows you how to create videos that are interesting,
entertaining and worth watching again and again.

The Peek
Performance Buoyancy Course
helps you to figure out exactly how much weight do you
need
to carry with you to neither sink to the bottom, nor to float up to the surface
before you are ready to end your dive.
Buoyancy skills separate the good
divers from the great divers.
You will
learn some basic weight guidelines and several ways to control your buoyancy
while underwater and on the surface.

different experiences. There is still so much to see after the sun goes down.
Night diving is very exhilarating, but often a scary thought for those who never
tried it. During your night dives you will open a door to a whole different
world. You learn to choose the right lights, master the skills of dive planning
and night time orientation. We offer this specialty on our overnight trips.
Search & Recovery
Specialty Spend time
around water and sooner or later, you come across someone
who lost something underwater. If you’re looking for the challenge and
excitement – along with doing your good deed for the day – this course is for
you. It gives you the skills you need to find what’s been lost, locate
large and small objects using search patterns, and various ways for lifting them
to the surface.
Project AWARE –
Fish Identification Course
As part of
this course you will identify and
learn about a variety of species that you often encounter with in our Channel
Islands. Your instructor will take you through the techniques for successful
identification as well as showing you how to safely interact with marine life in
an eco-friendly way.
If you don't already understand, you will after this class the importance of personal involvement in aquatic
environment conservation.

Multilevel Diver
Specialty
is one of the most interesting courses for those who want to
know how the dive computer works, how it can calculate your nitrogen-level and
the remaining time you can stay at a particular depth. In
this course, you learn how to plan dives to extend your bottom time by crediting
you for slower nitrogen absorption when you ascend to a shallower depth. That’s
the way you really dive, after all. You’ll
learn to use The WheelTM version of the RDP for planning multilevel
dives, making it a great companion for your dive computer (as well as a way to
make multilevel dives if you forget to bring your computer).

Equipment
Maintenance Course
Nobody has to tell you that your
equipment is a life support
equipment, right!? Nobody has to tell you to take care of it, right!? This
course helps you understand how does your regulator, BC and tank work, shows you
how to maintain your precious gear, and how to quick-fix minor problems on the
dive spot. This is not a repair technician class, but you will learn
how your gear
operates and what you can do to keep it working.
